Can a little girl have too many purses?

I think not. This weekend I made another one for my 3yr old. I have no recollection of why I purchased bright orange yarn but I thought it would be a nice addition to the little purses that I've made so far. The red and purple ones are from last year and are crocheted. The new orange one is mostly knitted with some crochet on the sides and for the handles.

My hands were simply itching to make something asap and this was the first thing that popped into mind. What matters is that the little owner approves! ;)

Love the new header btw!

Miles of Smiles

I made this card last night. I went with a friend to a 'card making' 'scrapbooking' gathering. I talked so much I only got one card done. I'm a talker for those that don't know me. Anyhow I wanted to share it with you because I just loved the paper and I finally picked some other colors besides red and black to work with.

I like the turnout. My materials are still limited because I'm a little financially lacking right now but I'm doing my best to pull together a good piece. Miles of smiles coming your way!

Save the Date cards

This is the design of the Save the Date cards that Jeff and I FINALLY decided on. Luckily it's not going to be too time consuming putting them together as 'I' will need to make about 50 or so of them.
We put a small magnet on the back of them so people can put the reminder on their fridge.

Wedding Guestbook

Here is the finished project I made last night. It is for my brother and his new soon to be wife back in Australia. Sadly I cant make their wedding but I wanted to make them something special. Think I need more ribbon on the spiral though....
I used a memory book that I bought at Walmart and paper from my local scrapbooking store.

Altered Board Book (part 1)

SO, this is what has been keeping me busy this past weekend and the last couple nights. I thought I would give this to Jeff's niece, Katie for her 5th birthday. It is made from a plain board book that i bought from walmarts craft section. I had never seen them before! Some of the pages are interactive. eg: one has a fold out window, there is a tag that pulls out from behind a photo, there are photos that flip up and there is a see through window that has small beads inside it... I still have some words to write in it yet but other than that I am pretty well done!

Femininity on Paper

I made this card yesterday! It all 'bout women and beauty and dreams and believing in yourself and your journeys. I kept trying to set some time aside to craft and each time it was me that got sick, or one my princesses... last night I forced myself to do something. The key element was that I was to do something original that I had not seen anywhere using my materials. I am officially in need of some more embellishments. I could easily do this card again by reprinting some of the embellishment that they always sell 1 of. They get expensive so I need to start using more of my computer and less of my wallet!

This post is overdue but it's delivered with joy!

Block printing a butterfly

Here's is something that is half craft and half digital (photoshop work). I used the print as part of my illustration friday for this week. I'm going to be selling the black and white prints (when and IF I ever get my site going!) as part of a series of nature cards which are all block prints.

Here's Ana!

This is sort of an 'oldie' but one that I'm VERY proud of. This is a doll that I made for my two yr old daughter for Xmas. I'd never made anything like this and before this I'd only used the sewing machine to sew in a straight line. I got inspired by the dolls that Hillary makes (they are adorable!). Enjoy! :)

Monster-dudes

Hi there! I have been wanting to post something on here for a while but I've been so busy with work that I haven't had a chance to be crafty at all. But I finally squeezed in some craft time Tuesday and Wednesday. I saw this blog and I thought the little felt dollies were so cute, so I had to make some of my own.

Here they are:

These monster-dudes are tons of fun to make! And so easy! I can just plop myself on the couch with some felt, thread and buttons and craft the night away. I think I'm just going to make hundreds until they infest my house. Then I'll put them in drawers and cabinets and the fridge. Kinda like mice or silverfish. I have big plans of making a few more tonight. If I do, I'll be sure to post those as well.

A use for AOL's wooden CD cases

This project was so simple! It is made from an AOL wooden CD case. I just covered the front, back and sides with paper then distressed the edges with brown ink. I used Color Box fluid CHALK inkpad in Chestnut Roan. I then made a tag and printed the word 'Photos' on white cardstock, adhered it to the tag and tied a ribbon around the bottom of the tag. I used a jump ring to attach the tag to the wide ribbon on the side of the cover. The ribbon is sheer which makes it a little hard to see in the picture.
Unfortunately AOL hasn't sent us their promo CD's in the wooden cases in a while, so this is the only one I had!
